The Job Role:
Your role as a General Stockperson is to contribute to the smooth operation of the farm, confidently handling stock and rearing of young stock, with shift milking, foot trimming, bedding and feeding responsibilities.

Location:
Northern England

Salary Package:
Between £30,000 - £32,000 Basic Salary
+ Accommodation to suit a family

Key Responsibilities:

The General Stockperson will be responsible for the day-to-day handling of the herd and young stock, feeding, bedding, milking, foot trimming and assisting with vaccinations.

Responsible for monitoring animal health and welfare and to respond accordingly.

Data recording using herd management software.

Candidate Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a General Stockperson on a large-scale dairy herd
Skilled at milking large herds using a rotary or herringbone parlour
Experience of TMR feeding
Foot trimming is essential
Experience of assisting with vaccinations
Experience of delivering medications under vets' supervision is desirable

A team player

Attention to detail
Experience of Health & Safety adherence
Tractor and/or teleporter licence would be beneficial

High standards for animal welfare

Other:
Ability to work flexible hours when required
Hold a valid UK driving licence
Milking is a flexible shift system, to include weekends, mornings, and evenings
