Horticultural Technical Area Sales Manager
Location: Home-based.
There are two territories / vacancies available for Lancashire & Cumbria.
The Company:
A Horticultural business who provides products to growers and distributors within the industry.
The Job Role:
You will be responsible for selling the full range of growing media, bark, and fertilisers to a wide range of commercial growers and distributors within this sales territory, driving profitable growth, whilst offering technical support for the products, to ensure the customers received the best experience and technical back up.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
Maximising opportunities for sales, to negotiate profitable and improved margins.
Supporting and working in partnership with commercial nurseries and distributors, to drive growth and margin opportunities.
Developing technical solutions to growers' problems and resolve through the technical teams.
Understanding the business objectives of your customers, ensuring the development of relevant categories.
Developing new customers in your region.
Supporting and implementing the growth business strategy, which incorporates increasing large grower and distributor networks.
Producing monthly reporting figures and working with department head to proactively identify opportunities, to increase profitability.
Providing exceptional customer service (specific targets by account) is always achieved, by communicating effectively with both internal & external contacts.
Improving and maintaining annual pricing architecture and cost price increase plan.
Informing and communicating the performance of your region to the wider sales team.
Reporting back market intelligence.
Candidate Skills and Requirements:
Ideally you will have / be:
Previous experience working in a similar horticultural technical sales role.
Demonstrable commercial experience, preferably with professional growers / garden centres.
Exposure or understanding of dealing with professional growers or from within the Horticulture / Agri / Amenity sectors.
A track record in successful business partnering, with sales & technical teams.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Current driving licence and the availability and willingness to travel for work.
BASIS and FACTS qualified is beneficial but not essential.
Financial acumen.
Commercially aware.
IT literate.
