The Company:
R H Metcalfe Farms is based in the Ripon area, with two farms 30 miles apart extending to 600 acres, producing mainly cereals to feed the business’s 620 sow breeding herd.

The Job Role:
We are currently recruiting for an Arable Operator / Manager, to fulfil or oversee most duties on a 600-acre arable set up.

Location: Ripon

Salary: Competitive subject to negotiation

Accommodation: Subject to negotiation

Key Responsibilities:
Operation and maintenance of all land-based machinery – e.g. combine, sprayer, tractors all cultivation equipment.
Management and monitoring of grain handling chemical and commodity storage.
Organisation of parts and workshop.
Undertaking building projects and groundworks.
Using a combination of conventional and regenerative means to improve soil health.
Use own knowledge and experience to grow the business in line with the owner’s own motives.
Management and teaching of possible additional staff members. e.g. an apprentice.

Familiar with most machinery
Interested in regenerative farming method
Able to plan
Adaptable to necessary changes of plan
