The Job Role:
As an Agronomist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on agricultural practices, crop management, and soil health. You will play a crucial role in advising clients on best practices, conducting field research, and helping implement sustainable solutions to maximize crop yields and improve soil conditions.
Location: UK Wide
Salary Package: £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience + Company Vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field assessments and soil sampling to provide recommendations for crop production, pest management, and soil fertility.
Provide expert advice to farmers, growers, and landowners on crop selection, crop rotation, and sustainable farming practices.
Monitor crop health and growth, identifying and diagnosing issues related to pests, diseases, and soil conditions.
Develop and implement tailored agronomic programs that align with the latest research and industry trends.
Stay up-to-date with new agronomic technologies, innovations, and best practices, applying them to improve client outcomes.
Collaborate with other specialists, researchers, and industry partners to drive knowledge-sharing and sustainable solutions.
Analyze data from field trials, interpret results, and prepare reports for clients and internal teams.
Provide ongoing support and training to clients and farmers to improve their overall agricultural practices.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards in all recommendations and interventions.
Candidate Skills and Requirements:
BASIS Qualified.
FACTS Qualified.
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a related field is desirable but not essential
Proven experience in an agronomic role, with hands-on knowledge of crop management, pest control, and soil health.
Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop physiology, soil science, and environmental sustainability.
Experience in using data analysis tools and agronomy software for field analysis and reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex agronomic concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and practically.
Willingness to travel.
