The Company:
An established agronomy business.

The Job Role:
You will provide farming customers with a professional and integrated prescription agronomy service which comprises both a comprehensive product supply service and complementary services which may evolve over time.

Location: UK Wide

Salary Package: £40,000 - £70,000 depending on experience

Main Duties:
You will be required to maintain regular contact with customers, including the inspection of crops as appropriate, in order to provide both a comprehensive product supply service and complimentary services including variety choice, rotations, cultivation techniques, nutritional requirements and crop protection for their crops.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be expected to follow the product strategy when giving advice.

You will be expected to follow the company's pricing strategy communicated at the beginning of each season.

You must take into account any environmental considerations when giving advice.

You should take account of the manufacturer's label guidelines when recommending products.

You will be expected to follow the company product strategy when giving advice.

You will not advise or recommend crop protection products that are not approved by the UK regulatory authorities.

As an agronomist you will be expected to win new customers each year, this will require you to take part in a range of business development activities, to be agreed with your line manager and to provide them with periodic progress reports.

Teamwork including working with the logistical team to ensure quality customer and delivery service is provided and met.

You will be required to keep an annual record of cropping that is being managed and to forecast cropping for the year ahead. This should form the basis of a product supply forecast that is required for customer's that should be provided in advance of the spring and autumn seasons to your line manager.

You will be responsible for collecting customer's debts and liaising with the credit controller to collect any payments in accordance with the company terms of business.

If requested, you will provide information and reports on your business activities to your line manager.

You will use business systems and software to support you within your role for inputting crop data and making recommendations. Farm cropping data should be entered at the earliest opportunity and your data entry must be up to date.

All business-critical data should be backed up regularly in accordance with the company's Information Technology policies.

You should supply crop data for at least 20% of the serviced acreage for the system at the earliest opportunity after harvest.

You will comply with the company information technology, internet usage, e-mail and Data Protection policies at all times.

Candidate Skills and Requirements:
You must be a member of the BASIS Professional Register and ensure that sufficient Continuous Personal Development points are obtained each year to maintain their registration.
FACTS Qualification.
You will be required to attend training courses, conferences and briefings relevant to your role.
In the event of a customer complaint you should immediately make your line manager and the technical department aware of the issue and not admit any liability. The details of the farmer discontent should be recorded using the company dissatisfaction report forms.
You will be required to familiarise yourself with company policies and procedure and always comply with the Health and Safety policy.
